NAIRN County Football Club are delighted to announce that Ronnie Sharp has agreed to come on board to assist Ally Munro in coaching the under-20s. The 49-year-old has been out of management since leaving his position as manager of Nairn St Ninian in the summer of 2014 after a highly-successful nine-year spell at the Showfield. Sharp is a legendary figure among the County supporters from his three spells at Station Park as a player where he shone as one of the league's most cultured midfielders and sweepers in a team blighted by a background of financial instability. He was voted into the Nairn County Team of the Century in 2014. The dugout beckoned for Sharp when he returned to Station Park for his third stint as a player in 1999 when he also took on managerial duties. Backed my new main sponsors Narden, he assembled a squad which achieved success that had not been seen at Station Park in decades reaching four semi finals, taking the club to the brink of a return to the Scottish Cup and finishing fifth in the league. It helped to lay the foundations for the further success which followed after his departure in 2004. He then took over as manager of Nairn St Ninian in 2005 winning two Elginshire Cups and earning two promotions in his time at the Showfield before stepping down in 2014. He is now back at Station Park (after two title-winning seasons keeping goal for Jackos in the Welfare League!) where he has taken on a brand new role having already been ball boy, player, assistant manager and manager of the club. Look out for a full interview with Sharp on his return to Station Park soon. Graeme Macleod
