Two of our young players have moved to Strathspey Thistle on loan.
Seamus McConaghy and Rory Williamson (pictured) will be with the Grantown Jags until the end of the season.
The midfield duo have featured heavily for the Reserves Team in the North Caledonian League this season as well as continuing to add to their Highland League appearance tallies.
Manager Steven Mackay commented: “Seamus and Rory are both at the stage where they need regular football in the Highland League to kick-on with their careers and move to the next stage of their development.
“Going to Strathspey until the end of the season gives them the opportunity to go out and get a run of games at this level, although it will be challenging for them and there are no guarantees – it is down to them to go there and earn a place in the team.
“Brian Ritchie is back as manager there and is always keen to promote young players, so we know the boys are in good hands and it is up to them to make the most of it.”
McConaghy (21) debuted for us against Formartine United on March 17th 2018 after stepping up from what was then our Under-20s squad. He has made 61 appearances for the club and scored five times.
Eighteen-year-old Williamson joined us from Inverness CT in July 2021, debuting on the opening day of that season in the 2-0 win at Keith. He has appeared 30 times for the club, also scoring five goals.
