THE club is delighted to confirm the appointments of Craig Park and Scott Andrew as our new under-13s team’s coaches. Park takes on the role of Head Coach for the team, who will be competing in the Moray Firth Development League for the very first time next season. The team will also be sponsored by PeterGow.co.uk (Utility Warehouse), who’s logo will be printed on the side’s new kit. The club’s Head of Youth Development, Stewart McInnes, said: “Craig was the standout candidate from all the applications we received – he holds all the required qualifications and first aid certifications to allow him to coach at this level and is excited about beginning his coaching career with Nairn County. “He previously played for the club in the under-19s league and was also a youth player at Clachnacuddin prior to that. He ticked all the right boxes and buys into what the club is looking to achieve by creating an environment where young players want to come out to training and learn regardless of the weather or any other distractions they might have." “We want the club to produce its own players for the first team and view the creation of an under-13s team as an important step in bridging that gap between small-sided primary school football and the 11-a-side game at a vital time in a player’s development. Craig understands that and that there is no pressure on him to win games – the development of each individual player is what is important.” He added: “Scott is an experienced primary schools’ and Street League coach with Kinmylies in Inverness. This is the next natural step for him in his own development. I am looking forward to working alongside both coaches and I wish them well." “I would also like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in the position and also welcome on board Peter Gow, who has kindly agreed to sponsor the team. Peter is a big fan of the club and attends every home match with his wife. I was delighted when I heard of his interest in sponsoring the team and his generosity has allowed us to kit the team out with a brand new set of strips.” Trials for the new team take place next Saturday at Nairn Academy Playing Fields between 12.00 pm and 1.30 pm. The trials are open to all players born in the years 2006 and 2007 – simply arrive at 12.00 pm with the correct kit and footwear. Graeme Macleod
