Our Reserves Team Head Coach, Stuart Finnie, will step down from his position at the end of the season.

Finnie has been in charge of our Reserves Team (previously our Under-20s Team) for seven seasons.

Following his appointment in 2016, Stuart has coached a total of 20 players who have gone on to make Highland League debuts for our First Team.

Stuart led the Under-20s team in the North of Scotland League for four seasons prior to a restructure in 2020, which resulted in us changing our Under-20s Team to a Reserves Team and joining the North Caledonian League. We are now in our third season as a full member of the North Caledonian League.

Director of Football, Graeme Macleod, said: “Stuart’s dedication and commitment to the club has been second to none. He does so much more for the team behind the scenes other than just coach and all of that work goes unseen but has been pivotal to the running of the Reserves Team.

“Stuart has a great record in preparing players for Highland League football and a big number of players owe him a lot for what he has done for them down the years.

“With a young family, Stuart now feels it is time for a break from football and we appreciate where he is coming from given the number of hours he has given up for the club over the years.

“We would all like to thank Stuart for his services to Nairn County over a long period of time. He is a lifelong supporter and has been a loyal servant to the club, going back to his days as a ballboy and helping with the kit as a youngster. He will be most welcome at Station Park in the future.”

Stuart has four league matches left in charge of the Reserves Team and has the chance to go out on a high as the team host Invergordon in the semi finals of the North Caledonian Cup at Station Park on March 18th.
