Following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, we would like to update supporters on a number of departures from the club.

Loan players Andrew Macleod, Calum Mackay, Ben Barron and Matthew Strachan have all returned to their parent clubs. Horace Ormsby has departed following the expiry of his short term deal while John Grant, Kyle MacDonald, Robbie Lean and Scott Stewart will move on this summer.

Ormsby made 16 appearances for us scoring once, while 22-year-old defender Grant featured in five First Team games at the start of the 2022/23 season after coming through our youth system from Under-15s level before a serious knee injury in September 2022 halted his progress. He has been on loan at Nairn St Ninian during the second half of the past season.

Twenty-year-old forward MacDonald scored the winner in the second of his two First Team appearances for us, striking in injury time of a memorable 5-4 win at Deveronvale in December 2021. He had previously played in our Under-17s, Under-20s and Reserves Teams and has spent this season on loan at Nairn St Ninian. Also with the Showfield side is 19-year-old midfielder Lean, who had played in our Under-18s and Reserves Teams after joining from Elgin City. Meanwhile, 19-year-old midfielder Stewart played in our Under-15s, Under-18s and Reserves Teams and had been on loan at Forres Thistle this season.

Departing from our Under-18s Team are Campbell MacDonald, Reuben Green, Daniel Murray, Charlie Rae and Jack MacCormick.

Manager Ross Tokely said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank all of the players who are leaving us for their service to Nairn County over a number of years for some of them. All of these players have been a credit to themselves and their families during their time with the club – I would like to wish each of them the very best of luck for their futures both within the game and away from football too.”

Meanwhile, Ben Kelly, Tyler Eadie and Sam Gordon will return to the club ahead of the new campaign after spells out on loan during the second half of last season.
