THE Nairn County FC Centenary Sportsman’s Lunch was a terrific success at the Royal British Legion last weekend. Guests enjoyed a fantastic two-course meal before being entertained by guest speaker, ex-Scotland goalkeeper Alan Rough’s tales from throughout his distinguished playing career. Club captain Michael Morrison won the £100 cash prize for winning the game of yellow or red card and items such as a framed and signed Nairn County top, a Nairn County VIP matchday experience and a cricket bat signed by the England team were all auctioned off. The afternoon was rounded off by music from compere Steve Innes on the accordion and accompanied by Inverness singer Alisdair Barnett. It is worth mentioning that Steve contributed much to the day's event by not only compering but also telling hilarious stories and then presenting his superb musical talents. The Nairn Speldings followed with a good number of favorite Scottish music renditions to complete an excellent Sportsman's Lunch. Graeme Macleod
