SEAN Webb's first half strike booked Nairn County a place in round two of the Scottish Cup at the expense of Deveronvale, writes Graeme Macleod. The club do not boast the best of records at Deveronvale's Princess Royal Park home, so it was always going to be a difficult tie to negotiate and after a cagey 90 minutes of cup football, it was Nairn who came out on top. The only goal of the game arrived on 11 minutes when the returning Martin MacDonald struck the crossbar with a header only for Webb to react quickest and drill the loose ball into the roof of the net. Despite the home club's efforts to force a replay, the County defence stood firm and progress into Monday's draw for round two. Graeme Macleod
