Today we can confirm the addition of Rory Williamson to our squad. Rory has been training with us over the last few weeks and the 17-year-old has impressed enough to earn a three-year contract. Capable of playing on the right side of the defence or midfield or in the middle of the park, Rory is a local player from Nairn who has been with Inverness CT for the last seven seasons. Manager Ronnie Sharp said: "Rory has done well in training and we are delighted to get him signed up. "The other players were taken by him straight away as you can see he is a talented player despite still only being 17. He has a good background having come through the youth system at Inverness CT and he has not looked out of place in training with us so far. "We will see how he does over the next few weeks once the pre-season friendlies start up and he will get his chance to earn a place in the team for the start of the season. It may end up that it takes his some time to adapt to the Highland League having only ever played youth football before but we will be patient with him and we will have no hesitation in putting him in the team if we feel he is ready. "He is a good athlete and a powerful runner with the ball at his feet. He has a good range of passing as well and he certainly looks as if he can be a good addition to the squad." Director of Football, Graeme Macleod added: "We took Rory in to train with the Reserves Team initially when they resumed training at the start of May after he had been released by Inverness. He played in a friendly for the Reserves, so we were able to take a proper look at him and he earned his chance to go in with the First Team for pre-season training. He has now gone one step further and been rewarded with this deal, which is fully deserved. It is credit to Rory for taking the chance and backing himself to do well and reach the First Team. "He is another young player from Nairn in our squad to add to Max Ewan, Ciaran Young, Grant Hogg and Sam Gordon, who we hope can form the foundations of our team for many years to come." Rory becomes our fourth new addition to the squad of the close season after Conor Gethins, Grant Hogg and Sam Gordon. He is in line to make his first appearance for the club when we welcome Jeanfield Swifts to Station Park for a pre-season friendly on Saturday June 26th. We then host Elgin City on Tuesday June 29th before away trips to Forres Thistle and Burghead Thistle on Tuesday July 6th and Wednesday July 7th respectively.
