LEFT back Cohen Ramsay has become Nairn County's fifth signing of the summer. The 17-year-old rejected the chance to move to two other Highland League clubs to pen a one-year deal at Station Park. Ramsay came through the youth ranks at Ross County and featured in their SPFL Development League winning squad last season and the Dingwall side's under-17s team. Manager Ronnie Sharp said: "We have been looking for a left-sided player all summer and Cohen fits the bill perfectly." "Mikie Rae got wind of his availability through his contacts at Ross County, so we invited him in to train with us and straight away he looked like someone who could be an asset for us." "He is a similar age to a lot of the players already in the squad like Jordan Macrae, Dylan Mackenzie and Max Ewan, so I do not see any issues with him settling in." "He had the chance to go to other clubs in the Highland League, so it is positive that he has decided to come to us and I would expect him to be pushing for a place in the starting eleven right away." "Bringing him in will hopefully help to add a bit more balance to the side as Kenny McKenzie is our only other naturally left-sided player, so it should free him up to play in his preferred position further forward." Ramsay featured for the club as a trialist against St Mirren last weekend and goes straight into the squad for Friday's visit of Inverness CT to Station Park. Sharp added: "Cohen acquitted himself well last Sunday in what was his first match at senior level against a quality level of full time opposition." "We play a similar standard of team in Inverness CT on Friday and it is a great opportunity for the young boys like Cohen to learn from the experience and take as much out of it as they can ahead of the start of the season." Ramsay is Sharp's fifth capture of the summer following in the footsteps of Adam Porritt, Adam Naismith, Ewen Urquhart and Max Ewan. Graeme Macleod
