We are delighted to be able to confirm our new Under-18s Head Coach.
Former club captain Wayne Mackintosh returns to Station Park to take on the position, which was vacated at the end of last season.
Director of Football, Graeme Macleod said:
“It is fantastic news for the club and the Under-18s players that Wayne has agreed to take on this role.
“Ronnie and I had a chat with Wayne a few weeks ago and we were all on the same page with how the squad fits into the overall structure at the club and what it needs to take it forward.
“Wayne then met the squad for the first time earlier this week at training and was impressed with the effort and the quality from the players. He has a great enthusiasm and knowledge of the game and I am sure that will rub off on the players and we will see the benefits of that.”
He added:
“Wayne came through our youth programme when he was starting out and went on to have a great career himself in the Highland League – if the young players he is going to be working with now can be nearly as successful with us as Wayne was then it will certainly make our job far easier.
“He is looking forward to getting started on his coaching journey having done some work with our Under-15s already and we are delighted to be able to support him on that. He is now working to assemble the rest of his coaching team and we hope to have more news on that soon.”
Wayne made 332 appearances for the club in a 13-year career at Station Park after debuting in 2004.
