THE club has agreed to release Jason Morganti from the remaining nine months of his contract. He is expected to link up with injury-hit Nairn St Ninian for their home game against New Elgin on Saturday. The 31-year-old has been missing for the club since the second week of pre-season training due to work commitments abroad and will jet back to Mexico on Tuesday for another two-month stint. Manager Ronnie Sharp said: "We are happy to help St Ninian out because they are struggling for midfielders and we want to see them do well." "They wanted Jason to help them out on Saturday and he is happy to do it, so allowing him to go is the right thing to do." "Obviously, his work commitments at the moment mean that he cannot commit to playing in the Highland League but we have said to him to get back in touch if that ever changes." Sharp added: "Jason was superb for us last season and proved that he is good enough to play at Highland League level. It is a shame he was never given the chance earlier in his career but he has spent a lot of time living away from Nairn as well and gained a lot of life experience, which was great for the younger players at the club who all enjoyed his company in the dressing room and on the team bus." "He had made the holding midfield position his own towards the end of last season and I was looking forward to seeing him paired with Gregg Main in there this year but obviously circumstances change quickly in football and we have struggled to find someone to nail down that role." "On behalf of everyone at the club, we would like to thank Jason for his services and wish him well for the future." Morganti came through the youth ranks at Station Park before work commitments with the Royal Marines prevented him from making any top team appearances. After relocating back to Nairn, he had stints with Nairn St Ninian in the junior leagues and Jackos in the Welfare League, where he played in their 2011 "Invincibles" team. He won the Player of the Year award in his final season with St Ninian before moving to County in the summer of 2016, where he debuted in the 3-3 draw at Fraserburgh on August 13th. He scored his only goal for the club on his home debut seven days later in a defeat to Buckie Thistle and made 27 appearances overall. Graeme Macleod
