We are delighted to announce the signing of Millar Gamble from Brora Rangers.
The 22-year-old defender has penned a two-and-a-half year contract with us, keeping him at Station Park until the summer of 2027.
The versatile centre-half, who can also operate at right back, will bring added strength to manager Ross Tokely’s backline and proven trophy-winning experience despite still having the best years of his career ahead of him.
Ross said: “We are really delighted to bring Millar to the club and I feel this is a big signing for us.
“I do not think it is any secret that we have been in the market for a defender this season and Millar ticks all of the boxes for what we are looking for. We is big and strong but can cover the ground as well. He is good on the ball, dominant in the air and is a good communicator. I have no doubts that he will be a great addition to our team.”
He added: “Millar is a player I have known for a number of years and I have followed his progression from when he was young at Inverness CT through to him stepping into the Highland League with Brora a few years back. He has been a regular in their team this season and they have been up there as the best team in the league along with Brechin, so that alone shows you the ability he has.
“He will have learned loads of good habits at Brora and developed that winning mentality, which is what we are also looking for him to add to our squad.
“Being from Ardersier, he is local to the club too, so we are delighted to have brought him in. When he became available for transfer we had to move quickly as we knew there would be other interested parties but there was never any doubt in any of our minds that it was not the right thing to do and it is a great boost for us that we have been able to attract a player of Millar’s calibre.”
Millar came through to Inverness CT development squads and represented Scotland Schoolboys in the 2020 Centenary Shield competition.
He moved to Brora Rangers that summer, playing in their Scottish Cup victory over Heart of Midlothian in his first season at Dudgeon Park. In his four-and-a-half years with the Cattachs, he won the Highland League championship, two North of Scotland Cups and two Highland League (Morganti) Cups.
Millar will be added to the squad for this weekend’s trip to Rothes pending approval from the Scottish FA.
