ALL four Nairn County loanees featured for Burghead Thistle in the 6-3 win at Buckie Rovers on Saturday. Joe Cuthbert played from the start but was replaced by County teammate Cameron Maclean at the interval due to illness. Ryan MacBean and Craig Munro then both made their debuts from the substitutes bench in the second half with MacBean marking his first appearance for the Jags with a goal before laying on an assist late on. For Cuthbert and Maclean, it was their second outing for Thistle having debuted the previous week in a 1-1 draw with Banchory St Ternan as Cuthbert played from the start while Maclean came on as a second half substitute. It was not such a successful day for Fraser Wilkie and his loan club Nairn St Ninian with the goalkeeper red-carded for handling outside the penalty area in their 3-2 defeat at Banks O’Dee. But the shot stopper has made the number one jersey at the Showfield his own in recent weeks making five appearances since beginning his loan in mid-October, playing in the wins over Banchory St Ternan and Stonehaven and defeats to Troon in the Scottish Junior Cup and Hall Russell United as well as Saturday’s match at Spain Park. This weekend, Burghead Thistle are at Sunnybank while Nairn St Ninian welcome Ellon United, both on league duty. All five County players are in contention to feature with Wilkie expected to be clear to play for St Ninian despite his weekend dismissal. Graeme Macleod
