We are delighted to announce the return of Kenny MacInnes, who has completed a permanent transfer to Nairn County from Elgin City.

The Nairn-based midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with us and has now joined up on a two-and-a-half year contract.

The 20-year-old former Scotland schoolboys international captain made 13 appearances for us last season and has now made the permanent switch to his home town club.

Manager Steven Mackay said: “Kenny was on loan with us last season and is familiar with the club and how we operate.

“He is a local boy, has an excellent attitude and is keen to develop as a player and get better and better. I am looking forward to working with Kenny and watching his game develop.

“He will give us more options in the midfield area as well as creating competition for places, which is important if we have any ambitions as a club of trying to break into the top 5.”

Kenny started his career with Inverness CT, where he made a solitary first team appearance in the Challenge Cup against Raith Rovers in 2021. During his time at the Caledonian Stadium, he had a spell on loan at Forres Mechanics, making seven appearances in 2022.

He moved to Elgin City that summer, making 14 appearances for the League Two club before his loan switch to us almost exactly a year ago.

After returning to Borough Briggs and making 11 appearances this season, he has now made the permanent switch to us for a fresh start.
