SUPPORTERS will be delighted to learn that the contract for the completion of the upgrade of the stand is about to start. With the fantastic support of you the fans we put together a package to finance the recladding of the shell of the structure last season. Now the contractors are going to carry out a refurbishment of the interior which will make the Station Park changing room accommodation the envy of every club in the league. Funding has come from the Scottish Football Partnership (60 per cent of the overall costs) £5000 from Nairn Highland Council’s Area Discretionary Fund and the balance from the club’s own resources and an generous anonymous benefactor. To you all we express our sincere thanks. Meanwhile the Supporters Group continue fund raising apace and that fund is being held in reserve for another major project next year – the new enclosure to replace the Cowshed. This project will be the subject of another application to the SFP in 2015. It’s an exciting time ahead with the coffee morning, Gin Tasting, centenary dinner, Fish N’ Hits and of course the launch of the centenary book. Meanwhile Mike and Peter will be looking for volunteers who may have some time to spare during the summer to help with the multitude of tasks maintaining the pitch and the ground to ensure Station Park maintains it’s status as the tidiest football ground in the Highland League.
