THE club today agreed another fresh sponsorship deal with a local firm in what is being hailed as a "fantastic boost" to Nairn County. George Smith Painters and Decorators will supply the club with paint for summer ground refurbishments and also carry out any remedial work that is required throughout the season as part of the package. The firm are also the Match Sponsor for the opening game of the 2016/17 Highland League season when Brora Rangers visit Station Park on Saturday July 30th. This follows on from recent deals with Nairn Laundry for kit washing, the 50/50 Club to sponsor the under-20s team and Tradeway for supplying tape for the players socks throughout the season. Interim Chairman Donald Matheson said: "It is great that the local business community are rallying round the club while we are operating under trying circumstances." "This offer from George Smith Painters and Decorators is a fantastic boost to the club. We are making a start with the summer maintenance work at Station Park tomorrow morning and receiving the paint from George Smith means that we will be able to trim our outgoings but at the same time, retain the extremely high quality of the appearance of our ground." "I know I keep saying it but I have been overwhelmed by the support from local businesses and the community since I have taken over as interim Chairman. We have another few of these deals in the pipeline but we are always open to offers. It shows the feeling there is for the club throughout the community of Nairn and that is something we are keen to nurture." "I am hoping for a good turnout of bodies at Station Park tomorrow to get cracking with the job in hand. I will be there and I look forward to meeting everyone. Feel free to approach me with any questions about anything that is going on at the club and I will do my best to answer them." George Smith Painters and Decorators can be contacted on 01667 453802.
