Fans invited to see changing rooms All Nairn County FC fans are invited to Station Park next Tuesday evening (Aug 12 at 7pm) to view the stand following it's internal refurbishment. The viewing will be followed by a meeting of supporters involved in the Ground Improvement Fund project. Last year the GIF contributed £11,500 towards the recladding of the stand and a new PA system. The dressings rooms were refurbished this year. "I understand the new look facilities are outstanding and I am sure fans will welcome the opportunity to see what has been done," said fund raiser Donald Wilson. The refurbishment was completed at a cost of £100,000 in two phases, supported by the Scottish Football Partnership, Nairn Area Highland Council, the Supporters GIF and a donation from a private benefactor. " Having contributed to the first phase the Chairman Peter Mackintosh asked our group to keep our funds in reserve this year to assist with the big push towards providing a new enclosure to replace the cowshed next year. "That is a major project and we will get an update on the plans at the meeting which will follow the viewing next Tuesday. At the moment we have around £36,000 available to commit to the new cowshed but with events planned, and further income streams from the centenary book, the West Highland Way Challenge I am confident we can boost that figure considerably." Donald added: "I hope as many fans as possible come up to see what their money has been spent on. I am very much looking forward to seeing the finished article as I am sure are many others. Hopefully at the meeting to follow we may get some new faces wanting to hear about our activities – and perhaps some new ideas may be brought to the table." People wishing to have names on the Panel Beaters boards can still do so for the sum of £20. Contact donaldawilson@talktalk.net Donald Wilson
