A BUMPER crowd turned out at Station Park this evening as Nairn County paid tribute to long serving defender Martin MacDonald with his Testimonial Match against Aberdeen, writes Graeme Macleod. A successful night for the big defender nearly took a disastrous turn just a minute into the game when he pulled down Kalvin Orsi with the Dons striker clean through on goal but referee Graham Fraser showed his lenient side when he might have red carded MacDonald had it been a competitive match. The young Dons moved the ball about well and took the lead on 33 minutes. Substitute Bruce Anderson was unmarked to meet Craig Storie's cut back and sweep home the opening goal. Storie was the supplier again for Anderson on 54 minutes. The former robbed Gregg Main of possession and fed Anderson, who guided a clipped effort beyond the exposed Antell. Nairn introduced a wave of substitutions including MacDonald's former team mates Duncan Jones, Steven Mackay, Willie Barron, Brian Macleod and David Hind. The Dons rounded off their 3-0 win in injury time with Anderson completing his hat trick. The young striker stepped up and curled an exquisite free kick over the defensive wall and into Antell's top right hand corner. Check the website tomorrow for more from the game including the thoughts of the manager and the man of the moment himself, Martin MacDonald. Graeme Macleod
