Nairn County Football Club are saddened to learn of the passing of Centenary Book co-author, Bill Logan. Chairman Peter Mackintosh said: "Bill was a lifelong supporter of the club and enjoyed watching the likes of Johnston, Allan et al in the 60s before spending most of his working life in Forfar, where he trained guide dogs for the blind. "He returned to Nairn in retirement and could be found at Station Park every home game cheering on the team and discussing a range of topics standing in the Cowshed beside his friend and goalkeeper from our championship-winning team, Richard Konczak. "His passion for local history led to his involvement in the production of the Centenary Book and I know he put in a tremendous amount of effort and hours at Nairn Museum tracing the origins of the club and indeed, football in Nairn. "Bill was a fit man and was a founding member of a running club in Forfar during his working life. He displayed his fitness even in retirement completing the gruelling West Highland Way walk just last September as part of a fundraising effort by the club's supporters. "Bill played a huge role in raising a fantastic sum of money for the Supporters' Ground Improvements Fund, who are one of the principal financiers of ongoing work at Station Park to construct a new standing enclosure. We hope that the finished article will have met with Bill's approval and will be a lasting legacy to all of his endeavours." Everyone at Nairn County Football Club sends their condolences to the Logan family at this time. Graeme Macleod
