CRAIG Alexander will leave the club this summer at the end of his current contract. The 19-year-old wide player made eight starts and two sub appearances for the under-20s in the North of Scotland League this season. Under-20s coach Stuart Finnie said: "Craig is 20 this year, so he is at an age where he needs to be playing regular adult football and unfortunately, that is not going to be with Nairn County." "He has been great to work with this season and has a first class attitude towards his football and his training." "We will do everything we can to help Craig find a new club if he wishes. We would not do that for just anyone but because of the way Craig has conducted himself this season, I will happily recommend him to any clubs who want to take a look at him." "We play our final game on Monday night and I was prepared to make Craig captain for the night as a thank you to him for his efforts this year but unfortunately, he is off on holiday." "I would like to thank Craig for everything he has done for the club and for the under-20s team this season and wish him all the best for the future." Finnie has offered fresh terms to 14 members of his squad with another two already signed up for next season. "We have also invited a further six players back for pre-season training," he added. "We will be running with a young squad next season and will only have one player in the squad in his final year at under-20s age level." "It means that we will keep the bulk of the group together for two or three years, which will hopefully give them all the best possible chance to make it to the first team." The under-20s round off their season with a post-season friendly at Station Park on Monday night against NMM Sam's from the Inverness Amateur League. Kick-off is at 8.00 pm and entry is free.
