Nairn County Football Club wish to announce their assistant manager Ally Macleod is leaving the club after four seasons of loyal service. Ally, who spent five years as under-19 a coach at Brora Rangers before teaming up with Les Fridge at Nairn underwent a bone marrow transplant earlier this year for leukemia and is on the road to recovery. Ally commented: "I have had very positive news even at this early stage that the transplant has been a success. Therefore I have taken my decision to leave Nairn County with immediate effect to progress my coaching career in football. "Having spent four seasons with Nairn during which we have won the Highland League Cup, North Cup, and finished four consecutive seasons in the top five places in the league I have seen a great improvement and consistency in the team's performances and results. "The season prior to my arrival at Nairn the team were 11th in the table and it good to see where they are in the league now. "My aim is to complete my UEFA A Licence, UEFA Elite Youth Licence and SFA Children's Licence within the next 18 months while looking for a new club to coach at any level. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nairn County Football Club, the players and fans for their support over the last four years and also Les for giving me the opportunity to coach at a fantastic club like Nairn and I wish them all the best for the future." Nairn County Chairman Peter Mackintosh commented: "Everyone at the club holds Ali in the highest esteem. He has given the club great service and we admire his courage with what he has gone through over the past year and we wish him well in his recovery. "He is a superb coach and has made an immense contribution to Nairn County's year-on year improvement in our league standings. With his coaching qualifications and his ambition I am confident he will go on to make his mark in the game and we wish him every success. There will always be a very warm welcome back for him at station Park." Manger Les Fridge commented:"I wish Ally all the best with his health and for the future. He has ambition to go further in his coaching and I wish him well in his coaching qualifications and on behalf of myself and and the players thank him for everything he has done at the club."
