Under-20s Enter NoS League

THE under-20s will start their North of Scotland League campaign with a home derby encounter against Clachnacuddin in just over a fortnight.

The County youngsters – managed by Ali Munro – will play their home fixtures at the Academy Playing Fields and are preparing to hosts the Lilywhites in the season curtain raiser on Monday September 21st.

The other clubs featuring in the league are Forres Mechanics, Lossiemouth and Alness United with fixtures published up until the end of November.

The league will give first team squad members Jack Maclean, Matty Macleod, Craig Munro, Chris Mackinnon, Sam Maclean, Jack Dickson, Josh Millard, Reece Barton and Craig Alexander the opportunity to play regular football as they endeavour to break into Les Fridge’s first choice eleven.

The rules of the competition also state that a maximum of three overage players plus one overage goalkeeper may be named in the match day squad by each club. Up to three trialists may also be named, with a trialist playing no more than three matches for a single club.

  • 09/11/2015 – Nairn County v Alness United
  • 16/11/2015 – Lossiemouth v Nairn County
  • 23/11/2015 – Nairn County v Forres Mechanics

ANY coaches interested in assisting with the under-15s, under-17s or under-20s squads are urged to make contact with the club.

Ali Munro and County star of the 70s Neil Gibson currently coach both the under-15s and under-20s teams while the under-17s are taken by Malcolm Shaw and Alan Cuthbert.

The club are appealing to anyone interested in becoming involved in youth coaching in any way to get in touch regardless of experience. In return, the club will put successful applicants through the appropriate SFA affiliated youth coaching courses.
