We have completed the signing of former Inverness CT youth defender, Finn Munro.

The 17-year-old joins us on a two-year contract after a successful trial period throughout pre-season.

The youngster is comfortable operating at centre half or right back and Manager Wayne Mackintosh was pleased to strengthen his options in these areas following recent departures.

He said: “Finn has done well since joining us at the start of pre-season training. He has fitted in well with the squad and looks to be up to the standard we are looking for. He is comfortable on the ball and has been coached well defensively having come through the youth system at Inverness CT.

“With Callum Maclean and Brodie Watson both no longer at the club, we were short of right-sided defenders, so bringing in Finn is a big boost to us.”

He added: “We want to develop young players and see improvements in them year on year. In recent seasons, we have seen Jamie Carnihan and Calum Mackay come in and be in and out of the team initially but now be among our key players. Jonathan Bain came back from his loan spell at the end of last season and did well for us too.

“The opportunity will be there for young players to establish themselves at this level and that is both in terms of players we look to bring into the club and those who come through our own youth development programme. We have had Harrison MacKenzie and Xander McAlpine from our youth teams up training with the First Team and featuring in our friendlies so far in the summer and we will give more of these opportunities to players if they show that they are good enough and have the right attitude.

“In terms of Finn, we will be patient with him and allow him the opportunity to develop and find his feet in adult football. It is now up to him to show what he can do and earn a place in the team. We are all looking forward to working with him and are delighted to have brought him to the club.”

Finn has been training with the squad since pre-season training commenced last month. He has featured as a substitute in the friendly matches against Inverness CT, Elgin City and Nairn St Ninian and played the full match away at Lossiemouth United on Tuesday.

Finn’s kits are available to sponsor for the season. Drop us a message on Social Media or email info@nairncountyfc.co.uk if you are interested.
