Written by Nairn County FC February 25th 2014

Last week I visited Nairn for the first time…well the first time since I was born there in 1963 (left at the age of 2 months…) These days I live in Sussex and follow Lewes FC which is in the Ryman Premier League. We are a decent little semi-pro club and get crowds of 500 to 600 most games…we have a quirky little ground called the Dripping Pan. So you can imagine why I was drawn to visit Station Park when I visited Nairn last Tuesday. The ground was all locked up but I happened to bump into Dave McKinnon who kindly showed me and the other guys who were with me, round the ground. It is a beautifully kept ground and we could feel the sense of pride in the place. Came away from Nairn (via trip to barbers to buy a beanie hat!) feeling only good things about a fantastic football club. I am now looking out for County's results and hope that I can get back there before too long on a match day. Thanks for the warm welcome and best wishes for the rest of the season. By the way Lewes won at the weekend…5-1!!!!!
