Nairn County U15s who play as Nairn Stags in Inverness Street League defeated Balloan Athletic 5-0 in yesterday's Division A Cup Final at Inverness Caledonian Stadium. Nairn were the stronger team in the first half and played some good passing football and boys took their chances well. First to score was Kai McLaughlin with a wonder strike from 30 yards out, next to score was Aiden Campbell assisted by Kai and then Tyler Eadie scored from an almost impossible angle, again assisted by Kai and Aiden. So Nairn went into the break 3-0 up. Balloan then had a real go in second half and dominated play for first 15 mins but then a Balloan Player picked up a second yellow card so was sent off. Next a Balloan Player was given a straight red so they were then down to 10 men. Two further goals from Kai in second half sealed the victory for Nairn making it 5-0. In last 3 mins Harry Barron for Nairn took a Balloan Player down in the box and even though he got the ball was deemed last man so unfortunately for Harry was red carded and sent off. But all credit to the Nairn Boys as they have had quite a few games lately with a small squad so have done exceptionally well to get to the Cup Final. Player of the tournament went to Kai McLaughlin and he was presented with his trophy by Graham Shinnie from Caley Thistle. Gillian McWilliam
