As last season’s player registrations approach their expiry, it is the time of year where we say thanks and goodbye to a number of players who have served us with distinction at various levels.
Leaving us from the First Team squad is Callum Ednie.
The 24-year-old moves on after seven years with the club.
Director of Football, Graeme Macleod said:
“Callum has been a great servant to Nairn County over his six years with our First Team squad having initially joined our Under-20s the year before.
“He stepped up when he was called upon in 2016 when we were struggling to put a team on the park and seized his opportunity to establish himself as a Highland League player.
“We all wish Callum the very best for the future with whatever he decides to do next both within football and away from the game.”
Callum made nine starts and two sub appearances for us last season, which contribute to his overall tally of 54 appearances in six seasons.
The following players who were with us from the start of last season will also be leaving upon the expiry of their registrations:
First Team
Callum Ednie Reserves Logan Hallam Callum Morrison Scott Murray Shaun Young
Under-18s
AJ Baird Kyle Grimm Sean Murray Simon Radic Oliver Williams
The club would like to thank all departing players and wish them well for the future.
We also say farewell to our Under-18s coaches, Craig Mackenzie and Stephen Grant.
Graeme Macleod added:
“Stephen and Craig have both done a power of work with a number of players at youth level over the years and I would like to place on record the thanks of everyone at the club to them for their efforts.
“We have not quite seen the back of Stephen just yet though as he has agreed to help us out with various matchday duties supporting the Reserves Team which is fantastic news.”
We will shortly be in a position to confirm our squads at all levels for the coming season
