GOALKEEPER Stephen Foster has joined Nairn County on loan from Championship club, Inverness CT. The 18-year-old stopper featured for the club as a trialist in Saturday's friendly match at New Elgin and the paperwork has now been concluded for his switch to Station Park. The Auldearn-based teenager adds to the strong local contingent in manager Ronnie Sharp's squad and is in line to make his debut in this weekend's Highland League opener at Forres Mechanics. Sharp revealed that the player has been on his radar for some time. He said: "We saw Stephen playing for Fort William when he was on loan to them last season." "He played against us for them and we also watched him in the latter stages of the North of Scotland Cup for Fort. He played against us for Inverness CT in a friendly earlier this month as well and we are delighted to get him in." "It is an area we needed to strengthen with Dylan Maclean on holiday for the start of the season and Ryan Macleod having missed a lot of pre-season training because of injury and work commitments." "Stephen will remain in full time training at Inverness CT as well as joining up with ourselves. He is a good communicator and although he did not have much to do at New Elgin on Saturday, what he did do, he did very well." He added: "We have to thank John Robertson and Inverness CT for allowing us to take Stephen in. It is great that the club now has a working relationship with them again." Graeme Macleod
