We have made a late addition to our squad ahead of tonight’s trip to Brora Rangers by bringing in forward Roddy Kennedy on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Roddy is a 24-year-old attacking player who has been on trial with us for the past month.

He featured from the bench as a trialist in our recent matches against Strathspey Thistle and Buckie Thistle.

The former Inverness CT youth has returned to the area after spending the last couple of years in the Central Belt and Interim Manager, Brian Macleod has seen enough to convince him to add the forward to his squad.

He said: “Roddy can play in behind the striker, wide or up front and I feel he gives us something a bit different to what we already have in the squad.

“He has shown that he can hold the ball up well and drop into little pockets of space which will hopefully help us to link the play between our midfield and attack.”

He added: “Roddy has been away for the last few years so he may not be a player people are too familiar with. He contacted us and asked to come along to training and then we got a look at him in the closed doors friendly against Inverness CT last month and our last two league games.

“He has shown a real willingness to come to the club which is encouraging and is the sort of commitment I am looking for. We are looking forward to continuing to work with him over the closing weeks of the season and he will be a part of the squad for tonight’s game at Brora.”

Roddy progressed through the youth ranks at Inverness CT and spent the 2019/20 season loan at Fort William with a number of his teammates, scoring in the Lochaber club’s win over us in the North of Scotland Cup that year.

Following his release from Inverness CT, he pursued a career as a PE Teacher and has had short stints at Forres Mechanics and Strathspey Thistle during his time on holiday and placements back up North.

Roddy is available to sponsor until the end of the season. Interested? Drop us a message on Social Media or email info@nairncountyfc.co.uk.
