This evening we can announce the signing of Alan Pollock, who returns to Nairn County for a second spell.
Midfielder Alan spent two-and-a-half years with the club after joining us from Clachnacuddin in January 2014. He then moved on to Brora Rangers in the summer of 2016 before spending 18 months at Forres Mechanics. His next move saw him sign for Rothes in November 2018, where he enjoyed Highland League (Morganti) Cup and North of Scotland Cup success with the Speysiders.
The 34-year-old has now ended his five-and-a-half years at MacKessack Park and agreed a one-year contract with the option of a second year to make his return to Station Park.
Manager Ross Tokely was delighted to add some further trophy-winning experience to his squad and believes his first new signing as Manager can bring a lot of qualities to the squad.
He said: “Alan is a very experienced player and I am delighted that he has chosen to join us.
“He knows the club having been here before, albeit some time ago. He has loads of Highland League experience from different clubs and will add more energy to our team in the middle of the park.
“Alan is a player with real drive and determination to do well. He was looking for a fresh challenge after a successful time at Rothes and I believe we can provide him with the right environment to kick-on again and get back to his best.
“He can play out wide or in a central area and he is an attack-minded player, so we will be looking for him to chip in with as many goals as he can next season as that was an area we where we struggled last season outwith the contribution of Andrew Macleod, who has now returned to Ross County.
“Alan knows me, the rest of the coaching staff and a lot of the players already, so I do not see any problems with him settling in right away. We are all excited to be working with Alan and seeing what he can bring to the table and I am sure the supporters will be looking forward to seeing him back in a Nairn County shirt again as well.”
Alan will recommence his Nairn County career on 15 goals and with a total of 91 appearances for the club to his name.
