Ashers Bakery is the new sponsor of Nairn County under-15s. The team's new kit was handed over by Ali Asher from the Bakery to Nairn County Head of Youth Development Stewart McInnes, Youth Treasurer Steven Bain and coaches Craig Walker, Barrie McDonald and Stephen Grant. The kit was worn for the first time in today's home match against Strathspey Thistle. Stewart McInnes said: "We are delighted that a prestigious and well-known local brand such as Ashers has agreed to come on board and sponsor our under-15s team." "It is a ringing endorsement of what we are trying to achieve at the club with our youth development policy. We want all of our players to develop, learn and grow at their own pace and most importantly, enjoy playing football." "Our ethos is to give everyone as much time on the pitch as possible and to promote good performances and enjoyment of the game over results and winning at all costs. I am delighted that Ashers have been able to supply the boys with a brand new kit for them to wear with pride while out on the pitch." "When you look at the first team, you have Jordan Macrae who scored scored yesterday and has been playing regularly since the start of the season when he was 17, Dylan Mackenzie scored last week and he too came into the team at the start of the season when he was also 17. Jack Maclean scored the winner against Lossiemouth a few weeks ago when he was just 18. The players in the under-15s are only three or four years younger than these boys, so they have to be looking up to them and thinking that it could be them starring for the first team in a few years time." He added: "I cannot thank Ali and George Asher enough for this agreement. Gaining the backing of one of the biggest and most successful businesses in Nairn who are also recognised as one of the best bakers in the country is fantastic news for the club." "It also strengthens the relationship between Nairn County and Ashers, who already supply food for our boardroom guests on matchdays and run the pie shop at the ground for spectators." Ashers Bakery is a fourth-generation, award-winning bakery founded in 1877. They bake locally for 14 of their own shops and cafes across the North of Scotland as well as baking a range of biscuits and cakes, which are available nationally online.
