We are delighted to announce that Jamie Carnihan has signed a new three-year contract.

The full back – who turned 20 on Saturday – has agreed a deal until 2028 pledging his long-term future to the club.

Jamie is now in his third season with us having joined in the summer of 2023 and has firmly established himself in the starting eleven in his time at Station Park.

Manager Wayne Mackintosh was pleased to secure the services of a player he sees as being at the forefront of his plans for the future development of the team.

The boss said: “I am delighted that Jamie has signed a new contract with us.

“He has been in excellent form so far this season and long may that continue. We have seen since the second half of last season how much Jamie has improved and I believe there is still more to come from him.

“I am still on at him all the time about the little tweaks and improvements he can make to his game because I really believe in him and I want him to do well and fulfil his potential to the maximum.

“He is a great personality as well and the sort of person you want to have in your squad. I think the fans will have seen for themselves the level of performance he has managed so far this season and you have to remember he is still only 20, so he has a lot of Highland League experience already for his age and he still has his best years in front of him.

“Overall, it is great news for the club that he has agreed to stay with us for the long term and I know that the rest of the coaching staff and myself are all looking forward to continuing to work with Jamie.”

Jamie joined us following his release from Inverness CT, where he made two First Team appearances and represented the Scotland schoolboys’ team.

So far, he has made 64 appearances for Nairn County, scoring a single goal when he netted a late winner away at Wick Academy in a 3-2 success in November 2023. He also assisted the winning goal in the 2023 North of Scotland Cup final.

Jamie’s home kit is sponsored by Derek Steel and his away and third kits are sponsored by Charcoal Aviemore.
