Young full back Jonathan Bain has agreed a new two-year contract with the club.
The 19-year-old left-sided defender has put pen to paper on a deal until the summer of 2028 having returned to the team towards the end of the season after a successful loan spell at Rothes.
Jonathan initially joined us in 2024 and having made a breakthrough into the starting eleven, has now pledged his future to us as he aims to build on that positive end to the season.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh was pleased to secure the services of the teenager, as he continues his preparations for his second season at the helm.
He said: “Jojo came back into the team at the end of the season and never really put a foot wrong. He has had to be patient and wait for his chance to come along and probably did not play as much as he would have liked earlier in the season.
“He had been doing well in training and you could see the improvement in him and we just felt he needed a sustained run of games to take that next step. The opportunity came for him to get that out on loan at Rothes and we received great feedback for how he got on there. That then led to a chance for him to come back to us and straight into our team for the last few weeks of the season and he has grabbed it with both hands.
“I am really pleased for Jojo and we are looking forward to seeing how he continues to progress.”
Bain joined us from Inverness CT in the summer of 2024 having made a single first team appearance for the Caley Jags away at Hamilton Academical in the Challenge Cup during the 2022/23 season.
He spent time out on loan at Fort William in his first season with us, before joining Rothes on a temporary basis at end of January this year. So far, he has made a total of 18 Nairn County appearances.
