The Reserves were 6-0 victors in a friendly match against the newly formed Strathspey Community Select team last night.

The returning Nathan Grant’s long diagonal pass picked out the third man run of Rory Williamson on six minutes. He fed Kieran Duffty, who finished low across the goalkeeper to open the scoring.

Seamus McConaghy then smashed the ball past the goalkeeper at his near post to make it two before he added his second on the quarter-hour. Ross Peters’s throw-in from the left was flicked into the path of the unmarked McConaghy first time by Duffty and the wide man once again finished first time with aplomb.

Ryan Moodie then netted an exquisite free kick from 25 yards 10 minutes before the break, lifting the ball up and over the wall and into the top right-hand corner.

In a more even second half, it took up 78 minutes for the score line to increase when Tyler Eadie’s corner from the left was headed home by Duncan Robertson (pictured).

Then, five minutes from the end, Murray Wilson’s free kick into the box was headed down to Williamson, who spun and crashed a rising shot past the despairing goalkeeper.

Many thanks to our opponents for the game and we wish you all the best in your efforts to develop and grow your team.
