Throughout the 2022/23 season, Nairn County fans have been raising money for local Nairn charity TeamHamish through buying the club’s special charity third shirt and fundraising at other events.

A total of £3356.50 was raised and handed over to TeamHamish.

More than half the money has come through shirt sales. A total of 232 third shirts were sold with £10 from the sale of every adult shirt and £5 from the sale of a child’s shirt going to the charity.

During the season there was also a special fundraising day at the home match v Huntly in which attracted a bumper crowd.

Additional money was raised during the club’s first ever Christmas Eve charity dip, which saw fans and local residents join the first team in venturing into the Moray Firth.

The motivation for the fundraising initiatives was to support TeamHamish with their move into phase two of their plans; the focus being on the area of the Links currently occupied by the putting, crazy mini golf and the adjacent banking and grassed areas.

Mark Kelman, Nairn County Chairman, said: “We are ecstatic that we have been able to raise money for TeamHamish.

TeamHamish means so much to so many people in Nairn and we are proud to have been able to play a small part with their fundraising efforts.

We can’t thank our fans enough for buying shirts and donating in person at our events this season.

The feedback on the shirt since we first launched it has been phenomenal with people buying from all corners of the UK.”

Sam Hey of TeamHamish, said: “We want to express our sincerest thanks to the club and its supporters who have shown such kind generosity towards TeamHamish throughout the season.

To see so many supporters of all ages and from so far afield, as well as the team, wearing the TeamHamish shirt is really tremendous and means so much to us, especially in the way it has brought the Community together.”

We are absolutely delighted that County will be continuing to fundraise for TeamHamish into the next season, as the monies raised makes such a huge difference as we move closer to our next Phase becoming a reality.

The club are committed to fundraising for TeamHamish again next season and will continue to wear and sell the third shirt throughout the 2023/24 season. The shirts are available online.
