A very grey sky preceded over Station Park onSaturday as County held Formartine to a 1-1 draw. An Andrew Greig goal put County a goal up, before a Jonathan Crawford penalty levelled things up. After the match, Ross Tokely gave his thoughts on the match:

Ross Tokely: “I’m happy enough with the point but I don’t think we played particularly well. We had a much improved second half and I was happy to see us take the lead as they (Formartine) are very dangerous. We dealt well with their long throws and long balls and there were chances for both sides, so happy enough with the point.”

When asked on how the defence’s performance in the match, Ross Tokely responded:

“Defensively I thought we did well, in terms of dealing with Formartine’s long throws, and Kenny McKenzie put in a good shift at left back. Fraser Dingwall was excellent today, just dealing with their long throws. I just wasn’t overly happy in terms of the first half performance as I felt that on Wednesday against Clach we played well and just dropped our standards a little today. That being said, Formartine are a very good side and after a team talk we were a lot better”.

Dylan MacLean won the title of Man of the Match for Nairn today. Tokely gave his thoughts on his performance today:

“He made some good saves and that is why he is there. There were two or three saves I was really impressed by”

Finally when quizzed on his pre match thoughts before the Lossiemouth match this upcoming Saturday,  Tokely gave this response:

“It’s never easy down there (Lossiemouth), a really tough battle and they won 4-0 today so we need to play better than we did today. Again, I think we could’ve won it at the end today although they had a couple of chances so I just think next week we need to show some fight and determination and hopefully get three points”

Nairn County travel to Lossiemouth next Saturday (the 14th of September). The match kicks off at 3 PM and should be an entertaining affair.
