CRAIG Munro made his first start for loan club Burghead Thistle when they visited Sunnybank in the North Region Juniors Division 1 at the weekend. The Jags were narrowly edged out by two goals to one with Munro’s fellow Nairn loanee Joe Cuthbert appearing from the substitutes bench shortly after half-time. Ryan MacBean and Cameron Maclean are also on loan to the Forest Park club and came on as subs shortly after the hour-mark. There was a victory for goalkeeper Fraser Wilkie, who kept goal for Nairn St Ninian in their 4-3 home win over Ellon United in a topsy-turvy encounter at the Showfield. The win sees Mike Hendry’s men sitting fifth in the Super League table and they can climb to level second going into the winter break if they take all three points from Saturday’s visit of East End and other results go their way. Meanwhile, Burghead can climb into the top five in Division 1 ahead of the break if they can see off eighth-placed Longside at Forest Park and Fraserburgh United fail to win at home to Sunnybank.
