CRAIG Munro scored his first goal in the colours of Nairn St Ninian when the Saints got their Elginshire Cup campaign underway at Newmachar last weekend. Unfortunately, it ended in a 3-2 defeat for Mike Hendry's men with Munro's fellow defender Jason Duncan also on the score sheet. Munro played from the start with Matty Macleod – who is also on loan at the Showfield from the club – appearing as a second half substitute for the last half-an-hour. Munro has been in fine goal-scoring form this season and is, in fact, County's top scorer in the under-20s North of Scotland League with four strikes to his name despite playing at centre half throughout the campaign. Saints' are in an Elginshire Cup group along with Burghead Thistle, Whitehills and New Elgin as well as Newmachar and their home match against the Jags was postponed on Saturday because of the adverse weather. They return to league action this weekend when they travel to bottom dogs Fochabers, who have conceded an incredible 33 goals in their last two outings, scoring just once. Graeme Macleod
