We can confirm that we have agreed a transfer for Liam Shewan to leave the club.

The 27-year-old is expected to be announced by his new club once paperwork has been approved by the Scottish FA.

Manager Steven Mackay said: “Liam’s contract was due to expire in the summer and I had an honest conversation with him in regards to his place in our future plans moving forward.

“An opportunity came up for Liam to move to a new club and it was one he wanted to pursue now, so rather than wait until the end of the season, we felt it was in the best interests of Liam and the club to get the deal done.

“Liam has been great to work with in my time at the club and I wish him all the best with his move.”

Director of Football, Graeme Macleod said: “We would all like to thank Liam for his service to Nairn County and wish him well with his new challenge.

“He has been a consistent performer for us over the last four years and brought a lot of positive qualities to our squad. I am sure he will be a success with his new club.

“Everyone at the club would like to wish Liam all the best for the future and we look forward to seeing him again soon.”

Liam joined us from Clachnacuddin in December 2018 and debuted in the home match against Fraserburgh on January 5th.

The forward made a total of 75 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals with his tally in the 2019/20 season enough to earn him our top scorer’s prize.
