Young goalkeeper, Liam Mackenzie, has joined Nairn St Ninian on loan until the New Year.

The 17-year-old shot stopper returns to the Showfield club after a successful stint last season, which culminated in him winning their Young Player of the Year prize.

Liam was promoted to our First Team in the summer and linked up with the squad for pre-season training and will now continue his development in the North Region Juniors Championship.

Manager Ross Tokely said: “Liam is at the stage now where he needs to continue to play regular football at a good level, which is what he will get if he is selected to play at Nairn St Ninian.

“We think highly of Liam and see him as a great prospect for the future. We will be keeping close tabs on his progression at Nairn St Ninian and we are looking for him to continue to improve over the course of this loan spell.”

Liam joined us in 2020 having previously been at Ross County. He worked his way up through our Under-15s and Under-18s teams and moved to Nairn St Ninian on loan midway through last season. He will link up with his teammate, Ciaran Young, who has also joined the Showfield side on a temporary deal.
