Goalkeeper Lewis Munro has signed a two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at the club until the Summer of 2029.
The 20-year-old shot stopper is now entering his fourth full season with us having joined in the Summer of 2023, following an initial loan spell from Inverness CT.
Lewis kept the most clean sheets out of our goalkeepers last season and Manager Wayne Mackintosh is looking forward to developing his talent further.
He said: “Lewis is still really young in goalkeeping terms but he has built up a lot of experience already in his career.
“He has not been afraid to step out of his comfort zone and take loan moves when he has not been in the team with us and the opportunity has arisen, which is great credit to him to do that because it would have been easy for him just to stay with us and go along as part of the squad when he was not playing.
“He went out on loan to Nairn St Ninian just over a year ago and we could see a huge improvement in him when he came back to the club during pre-season last year. He had a good run in the team near the start of last season and made some really important saves at key points in games for us, with a couple in the Scottish Cup win at Berwick Rangers sticking out in the memory.
“He again took the chance to go on loan to Strathspey Thistle last season and did well for them from all of the report we received, so it was important for us to tie him down as he continues to develop and I am delighted that he has agreed a new deal. He has a big future in the game and I see him as a very important part of our squad in the long term.”
Lewis initially came to the club on loan from Inverness CT, making his debut in a 2-1 home win over Turriff United on November 5th 2022.
He was a part of the club that lifted the North of Scotland Cup in 2023 and following the conclusion of our 2024/25 campaign, he was loaned to Nairn St Ninian for the closing games of their season, featuring for the Saints in the final of the North Regional Cup.
Last season, he had a brief emergency loan back at Nairn St Ninian and also joined Strathspey Thistle on a temporary basis for the closing two months of the season.
In his time with us, Lewis has made a total of 29 appearances for the club.
