Goalkeeper Lewis Munro has joined fellow Highland League side, Strathspey Thistle, on loan for a month.
The shot stopper has made 13 appearances for us so far this season and makes the temporary switch to Seafield Park to continue his development, where he will initially remain up until the week before we host the Grantown Jags on March 21st.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh said: “Bringing Tom McHale to the club has allowed us the opportunity to put Lewis out on loan, which is important for his continued development.
“Lewis has done really well for us this season. He played every game when we went through September unbeaten and kept a number of clean sheets, which played an important part in that run of positive results.
“He made some great saves at important stages of those games and you could see that he had benefited from playing regularly on loan with Nairn St Ninian at the tail end of last season. We are hoping that this loan has a similar effect and he can come back to us and continue to challenge for the goalkeeper’s jersey.”
Lewis initially joined us on loan from Inverness CT during the 2022/23 season. He made the move permanent that summer and so far, he has made 29 appearances for the club.
The 20-year-old was loaned out to Nairn St Ninian towards the end of last season, playing for the Saints in final of the North Regional Cup where they were narrowly edged out by Culter. He was also loaned to the Showfield club on an emergency basis earlier this month, saving a penalty in their shootout win away at Whitehills, also in the North Regional Cup.
