We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Nairn-based midfielder, Kenny MacInnes from Elgin City.

The 19-year-old has signed on at Station Park on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

Kenny is a former Scotland Schoolboys international and brings additional pedigree and quality on the ball to our midfield.

He becomes manager Steven Mackay’s fourth addition to his squad. The boss said: “We have been keeping tabs on Kenny for a number of weeks and have been in regular contact with Gavin Price (Elgin City manager) over the possibility of taking him on loan.

“Kenny is a local lad and has qualities that we are looking for – he is comfortable on the ball and can play as both a holding or attacking midfielder, which gives us good options.

“He will be added to the squad for tomorrow’s game and we are looking forward to working with him.”

Director of Football, Graeme Macleod added: “Kenny is clearly a talented boy and already knows the league during his time on loan at Forres Mechanics last season, where he earned positive reviews.

“We witnessed for ourselves his abilities close hand when he played for Elgin City against us in the North of Scotland Cup at the start of the season. He is keen to get more game time and Elgin are keen for him to continue his development, so it is an arrangement that suits all parties.

“We are delighted to have secured the services of Kenny and I am sure he is a player who will already be familiar with a lot of our fans, given he is a Nairn boy. We are all looking forward to seeing Kenny out there in the yellow jersey of his home town club.”

Kenny came through the youth ranks at Inverness CT, where he played for and captained the Scotland Schoolboys team last season. He spent a short spell on loan at Forres Mechanics towards the end of that campaign before being released by the Caley Jags in the summer.

He then moved on to Elgin City, where he has made 14 appearances in the first half of the season.

Kenny joins Ross Tokely, Lewis Munro and his on-loan Elgin teammate, Aidan Cruickshank as Steven Mackay’s additions to our squad.

Kenny is available to sponsor for the rest of the season. Drop us a message on Social Media or email info@nairncountyfc.co.uk for more details.
