Two members of our squad have joined Nairn St Ninian on loan.
Kenny MacInnes and Chevy Thomson have made the temporary move to the Showfield club.
For midfielder MacInnes, it is the next step on his long journey back from heel surgery with the 21-year-old linking up with Stuart Finnie’s side initially until the start of next month.
Young winger Thomson returns to the Showfield having spent a short spell on loan there before Christmas. The 18-year-old will now spend the rest of the season at Saints.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh said: “This is a great opportunity for both players to go out and play regular football, which they need for different reasons.
“Kenny has been back in full training for a couple of months now but he needs to get some game time under his belt. He has been getting back up to speed slowly but surely and this now gives him the chance to get back into the groove with playing 90 minutes on a regular basis for the next month.
“We still have to be very careful with Kenny, so we will then take it from there once he has played a few games for Saints and decide what the next steps are for him.”
He added: “For Chevy, this is a chance to get a sustained run in the Saints team. He was there briefly before Christmas and we received some really good feedback on his performances, so the next step for him is to secure a place in their starting team between now and the end of the season to give him exposure to regular adult football. He is developing well in training and we are pleased with his progress and we are looking forward to that hopefully continuing.”
Former Scotland Schoolboys captain MacInnes initially joined us on loan from Elgin City three years ago. After he returned to Borough Briggs in the summer of 2023, he made the permanent move to us in January 2024. He has made a total of 29 appearances for us across both spells, but has not played since November 2024 due to injury.
Chevy moved up to our First Team squad from the Under-18s in the Summer. So far, he has made five substitute appearances for the club.
