Nairn County FC states that, in response to the will and request expressed by the player, Jordan MacRae, the club has reluctantly agreed to grant him a permanent transfer. A suitable financial package for the transfer – the terms of which will remain confidential – was agreed with the purchasing club this afternoon. An announcement by the purchasing club will be made soon upon the impending agreement of personal terms and lodging of relevant paperwork, which is expected to be a formality. Today, Nairn County FC wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proven to be one of the best in the Highland League over the last two seasons. Following a rigid financial restructuring of Nairn County in 2016, when many commentators predicted the demise of the football club, Jordan MacRae emerged as a major success story in a team which confounded the doubters and exceeded expectations during a season of major fire-fighting. His development continued into the 2017/18 season, where he finished the campaign as the club’s top scorer with 23 goals from 38 starts. MacRae made his Nairn County debut away at Buckie Thistle on December 19th 2015 but this was the only occasion he was selected to play that season. He enjoyed a breakthrough season during the 2016/17 campaign and made 75 appearances for the club in total, scoring 31 goals. The club would like to place on record its appreciation of the professionalism and conduct of both the purchasing club and the player during the process of the transaction. He will leave the club with a handshake and the best wishes from all for his future. Graeme Macleod
