Defensive duo Jonathan ‘Jojo’ Bain and Brodie Watson have joined fellow Highland League side, Rothes, on loan for the rest of the season.
The pair are both in their second season with us and make the move to MacKessack Park to further their Highland League experience.
Bain joined us from Inverness CT in the Summer of 2024 with Watson arriving shortly after from Inverness Athletic. They will now work under the tutelage of our former Manager, Ronnie Sharp, current boss of the Speysiders.
Manager Wayne Mackintosh feels it is a deal which is a win-win for all parties. He said: “I know myself having played for Rothes what a great club it is, so we know the players will be well looked after there and it is a great opportunity to play regularly in the league over the remaining months of the season.
“Jojo has been doing really well in training over the past couple of months and we have been impressed with his progress. He can consider himself unlucky not to have had more time on the pitch recently.
“Brodie missed a lot of training during the first half of the season as he was away working in Oban through the week and only available at weekends. That led to his loan move to Inverness Thistle to keep him ticking over and now that he is back working in the local area, we felt he would benefit from regular game time at this level to help his development.
“It is up to both players now to make the most of the opportunity and then we look forward to having them back at the end of the season.”
Jonathan came through the Inverness CT youth development programme, making one First Team appearance before signing for us in May 2024. He spent time out on loan at Fort William in the North Caledonian League last season and so far, the 19-year-old has made 14 appearances for us.
Brodie was signed from Inverness Athletic in July 2024, having won the Football Times Cup with the North Caledonian League club, scoring in the final. The 23-year-old was immediately loaned back to his former club for the first half of last season before returning to feature for us during the second half of the last campaign and into this term as well. He then joined Inverness Thistle on a short term loan until the end of the year in mid-October. So far, he has featured 17 times for us.
