Two of our young players have today joined Nairn St Ninian on loan to continue their development.
Defender John Grant and goalkeeper Liam Mackenzie have moved to the Showfield side on temporary deals until Christmas.
John is a 21-year-old defender who broke into our First Team a year ago, making four consecutive starts before his progress was derailed by a serious knee ligament injury sustained in the home Scottish Cup tie against Drumchapel United last September. He underwent surgery after New Year and has successfully returned to full training. John has come through our Youth Pathway playing at each age group along the way. He now joins Nairn St Ninian for the next three months to build up his match fitness.
Liam is a 17-year-old goalkeeper who has starred in our Under-18s team for the last few seasons. He joined us in 2019 having previously been at Ross County. The promising young shotstopper has been in the matchday squad for the First Team as cover for Dylan Maclean both this season and last. He featured for Nairn St Ninian as a trialist in a pre-season friendly in the summer when they needed a goalkeeper at short notice and caught the eye enough for them to now wish to take him on loan and be a part of their North Junior Super League campaign.
John and Liam will link up with their Nairn County teammates, Kyle MacDonald and Robbie Lean, who are already on loan to Nairn St Ninian.
We wish both players well with their temporary moves and thank Nairn St Ninian for giving them this platform to take the next step in their progression.
