We are delighted to confirm our first summer signings with the arrivals of Jamie Carnihan (left) and Lewis Munro from Inverness CT.

Both players have put pen to paper on two-year deals at Station Park and will link up with their new teammates at the start of pre-season training later this month.

Jamie is a 17-year-old right back who has came through the development squads at Inverness CT and made his First Team team against Raith Rovers from the bench in October 2021.

He followed that up with his first start in the same competition last season when he played against Hamilton Academical in October. Jamie also earned caps for Scotland Schoolboys having been selected to be part of the squad for the Centenary Shield competition.

Manager Steven Mackay said: “We are delighted to have beaten off some stiff competition to bring Jamie to the club. He is a really promising player and everyone we have spoken to about him speaks very highly of his talent and potential.

“Although Jamie is still young, we have taken him to the club with a view to him challenging for a place in the starting team straight from the off.

“We are all looking forward to working with Jamie and excited to see him continue his development with us.”

Goalkeeper Lewis Munro returns to the club having spent most of last season with us on loan.

The 17-year-old shot stopper made six appearances and was never on the losing team, keeping a clean sheet away at Lossiemouth along the way.

Lewis also progressed through the Inverness CT ranks and had a previous loan spell in the North Caledonian League with Loch Ness prior to his temporary move to us last season.

Steven Mackay said: “Lewis showed his potential last season and our record in games where he was in goals speaks for itself.

“There will be tough competition for the goalkeeper’s position between Lewis and Dylan Maclean and again, we are all looking forward to seeing how Lewis’s development continues over the next few seasons. I am delighted that we have now managed to secure him on a permanent basis.”

The manager is looking to attract more young talent to the club as he prepares for the opening day of the new season on July 29th.
He explained: “Our ambition as a club is to sign talented youngsters in the Highlands and to create an environment where they can develop and fulfil their potential. Bringing in Jamie and Lewis not only immediately strengthens our squad as it is just now but they are also two players who I am sure have long and successful careers in front of them – our job is to do everything we can to help them make that a reality.”

Both players are available to sponsor for the new season. Interested? Drop us an email to info@nairncountyfc.co.uk or message us on Social Media.
