We can announce that today we have clinched the signing of Horace Ormsby from Deveronvale.

The Jamaica-born winger goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s match against league leaders, Brechin City, at Station Park.

The 28-year-old caught the eye of manager Steven Mackay in his time with Deveronvale, having moved to the Banffers after a career in England with Cribbs, Cadbury Heath, Clapton, Sawbridgeworth and Stansted.

Mackay said: “Horace is a player who we have been pursuing for a while because of the qualities that he has.

“He is quick, strong, very direct and can score goals and we are delighted to be able to bring him to the football club.

“We have always maintained that we want to bring in the right type of players to Nairn – players who have a strong mentality and work ethic and want to develop their game. Horace certainly ticks all of the boxes and we are excited to work with him.”

Ormsby moved North to Deveronvale in the summer of 2022 and scored 10 goals in 34 appearances in his first season at Princess Royal Park. It is that form which brought him to our management’s attention and we look forward to welcoming him to Station Park.
