A deal has been agreed for the permanent transfer of Dylan Maclean to Strathspey Thistle.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper brings to an end an 11-year stay at Station Park, having initially signed for us back in 2015.

Manager Wayne Mackintosh said: “We wish Dylan well with his move. He has been an excellent servant to Nairn County over a very long period of time and he goes forward to his new challenge with our best wishes.

“He is eager to play every week, which is totally understandable given where he is in his career and I am sure he will be a success at his new club.

“He has been a part of some great moments in the club’s history during his time here and I am sure he is a player who will be remembered well by our supporters. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank Dylan for his service to Nairn County.”

Dylan signed for the club in August 2015 made his debut as a substitute against Brora Rangers at Station Park a month later, following Calum Antell’s red card in that match.

That was his only appearance in his maiden season and he had to wait until the following campaign when he established himself as the club’s number one goalkeeper.

Despite competition from various other goalkeepers down the years, Dylan remained a constant in the team throughout his time with the club.

He made a huge contribution to our 2023 North of Scotland Cup final success, saving the winning penalty in the shootout win over Inverness CT at Station Park and playing in each round of the competition, including the 5-4 extra time final win over Ross County.

Dylan’s outstanding service to Nairn County was recognised with a Testimonial Match against Inverness CT on Tuesday.

Over the course of his career with the club, Dylan made 231 appearances and kept 51 clean sheets, ranking him among the highest number of appearances for a goalkeeper in Nairn County history. His shut out record puts him second in our all-time list, four behind record holder, Callum Donaldson.
