Below is the nomination the club made:
We would like to nominate Donald Graham of Nairn County for the Scottish Highland Football League Unsung Hero Award in recognition of his exceptional and selfless contribution to the club and wider community.
Donald has dedicated many years to supporting the Nairn County Youth Teams, providing invaluable administrative and organisational help across multiple age groups. He co-ordinates travel, fixtures, and kits with care and consistency, ensuring that young players are given the best possible opportunity to enjoy and succeed in football. His commitment goes above and beyond. Donald takes the time to build genuine relationships with players and their families, creating a welcoming and supportive environment that reflects the true spirit of grassroots football.
On top of this, Donald gives up his Sundays to support youth football and is also a familiar and friendly face on first-team matchdays at Station Park, where he voluntarily runs the club shop. Under his guidance, what began as a small setup has grown into a dedicated and thriving space. Donald warmly welcomes all supporters, from lifelong fans to first-time visitors, helping foster a strong sense of community around the club.
In addition, he manages the club’s relationship with The Town Barbers, extending merchandise sales beyond matchdays and further strengthening ties within the town.
Donald’s tireless efforts, humility, and passion make him a truly deserving Unsung Hero.
